Liza: Hey, Karen. Nice to see you.

Karen: Hi, Liza.

Liza: How are you today? Good. Thanks so much for taking the time and having a chat and sharing your experience in us working together. I really appreciate that.

Karen: Oh, you’re welcome.

Liza: So let’s get straight into it. Well, before we get started, maybe you can share…

What’s Soul Purpose Production, your business?

Karen: Soul Purpose Productions is about writing and speaking your truth with integrity and grace. And this has really materialised for me just in making the website with you. So I do thank you for that. Thank you so much. I have a background in writing. I trained as a journalist and I’ve written all my life and now I want to offer to the world, my writing and speaking skills. So that’s the basis of Soul Purpose Productions.

Liza: Yes. And I can second that. I mean, we’ve known each other for a while now, and I know that your magic is with words and not words from the head, but actually words from the heart and words that inspired and words that inspire people to take action. So it’s actually been a real privilege to be part of this journey.

Karen: Thank you. Thank you for saying that, Liza. Thank you.

Liza: Yeah. So you touched on my next question, which is we actually kind of work together, while we said we’re going to build a website, the website is kind of like the end outcome. You got to know what the website is about and you got to formulate the structure and what’s going to be in there. And we worked together a bit on that.

What was the experience like in us… during that part of the process?

Karen: Well, it started to… Working with you enabled me to get very clear on what my message was. I felt prior to that, I have quite a few offerings and it was all over the place. And to be able to put them in one place and clearly, on different pages, it helped not only me to get clear with my message, but it also helped me to have it all in one place. And I’ve found that I’m thinking clearly now because it’s all in one home beautifully done. So the actual process of working with you and bringing all that content together has helped me feel more balanced, more aligned with my message and more organised.

Liza: Yeah. I’m so pleased to hear that because the reality is you’ve got so many skillsets. Yeah. And you can help people in so many different aspects. And I think that was actually part of the challenge initially when we go and build a website but, “Karen, you can do this and this and this. How are we going to, like the word you said, ‘organise it’? You know?”

Liza: Because I’m glad that you feel, more balanced and organised with that…

So then the project did park for a little while, and you know, as more things, you know was coming through and then it resurfaced again. So what sparked for it to resurface again?

Karen: Well, it’s some time ago creating the website opened up, but what re-sparked, it was your words, when you said, “You know Karen your platform is built, all we need is the content.”

Karen: And in the past, I sort of felt, “Oh my gosh, this is such a big job. Do I feel ready to explain what I’m doing or show the world?” And when you asked that question, I just went inside and I went, “Yes, I’m ready for this challenge. I’m ready. I’m ready to start.” Yeah. So that’s what started it.

Liza: And then you went full stream ahead. You were just going non-stop and then I got myself out of the way, and I connected directly with the Wizards.

What was the experience like working with the wizards?

Karen: Oh, that was fantastic. They were incredible. And I made a point of… because I had felt that I was sort of all over the shop with some of my ideas, just working steadily through page by page. I was able to get clear in my mind, I’d actually do a page a day and I’d take my time. I’d sleep on it. Then I’d send it off to the Wizards. And before I knew it, it was uploaded. It was no trouble.

Karen: They accommodated everything, all the needs I had with creating it and would check in with me regularly, you know, we’ve done this, if you’ve got any other inquiries, please ask. It was seamless.

Liza: Yeah. And I think the step before that, which I forgot to mention was, yeah, once we kind of… you and I worked on a checklist together to go, “Okay, Karen, this is the checklist, take your time, no rush, but one at a time.” Yeah. And then when you’re ready, let’s give it to the team. And then we do our part. It was a lot more zen, wasn’t it?

Karen: Oh yes, totally. It was really a practice of being in the present moment because what could have been overwhelming for me was actually laid out in point form what to do next. And so I just, it was like… and I’m fairly organised. I liked ticking off the… when I’ve done it. And I just saw this long list getting smaller and smaller and smaller and getting to the point, “Oh my gosh, I’ve just got one more thing to do.” So, yeah… And it stopped overwhelming.

Liza: Awesome. Nice. And then the site was done.

And, what did you think of the end results?

Karen: Oh my gosh. It was far more than I imagined. I mean, you guys pride yourselves on producing epic work. I think you, in this case, you went beyond epic. I felt that it represented me. I was very happy. There was, and still is nothing I would change. I felt that you captured my essence. So I’m really happy with that. Thank you.

Liza: Yes. And I remember like every now and then you would call me and go, “Liza, I saw the thumbnail of the videos that the wizard created. That looks so good.” And you’d would say, “Liza, I just saw what they’ve done to the about page. And I really liked that flow, you know, it just all this little sprinkle of surprise that you share with me.”

Liza: And I think, people would talk about why they love doing what they do and the fact that you were so open in sharing your excitement. It really did spark a lot of joy in me, in this process just to get the phone call. “Oh, I saw this. Oh, I saw that.” That was very, very, very cool.

What about in terms of feedback and do you get any feedback from your community now that the site has gone live?

Karen: Well the site’s been live for, it’ll be coming up for a week soon. And the feedback has been incredible. People have commented on the colours, they’ve commented on the clarity of it. What’s intrigued me and I wasn’t expecting this, people have commented on the calming energies, the serene calming and peaceful energies, well this is who I am. This is what I want to represent. Well, it’s my constant practice that stillness that coming from a place of peace. And I’m absolutely delighted because I haven’t said that, but it’s come across in the design, the colours and the layout of the website. So I’m truly grateful. Thank you, Liza.

Liza: Oh, pleasure. And I think that’s one of my focuses when I worked with a client, because we focused on helping our clients to build their authority, to differentiate themselves from all the other people in businesses that are in the same space, you know, so let their true self shine. And so for me, it’s really understanding who my client is. Who’s the essence, their hearts, their energy, and then the website that we create is to elevate that and amplify who they really are. So I’m so pleased to hear that that’s what you felt either for this website for you. So I guess the last, the last question I have is, you know…

There are businesses that, you know, could be considering working with us. There are a lot of other agencies out there, some people could be hesitant to move forward, what would you say to them? What would you share with them, based on your experience with us working together?

Karen: Yeah. I would say don’t hesitate, what it did for me if there’s anyone who feels that they have a greater message, that they would like to reach a wider audience, that they would like to have a home. I feel like I have a home now. I’m not reliant on social media hosting my content because social media changes and flows. And I just feel like I’ve created this home. And if anyone is thinking, listening to this, considering, taking a bigger step then I wouldn’t hesitate, I would highly recommend contacting you and having a conversation about what’s possible for them. Liza: Yeah. Thank you, Karen. And I think what you touch on is so true about relying on social media. Like one of my coaches, James Schramko, he talks about the principle of Own The Racecourse, where he talks about, social media is one of the platforms, but you don’t control that. They can turn it off at any time. And what you really want to do is have your own website, build your database, that’s yours. And no one can ever take that away from you. And you have got direct access to your community to communicate with them.
